Overview

Nashville K-9 has operated since 2005 and describes itself as the first facility in the Nashville area to offer consumer pet training alongside protection dogs, search and rescue training, and law enforcement and working dog programs — a considerably broader scope than most local dog trainers attempt. Beyond standard obedience and behavior modification for pet owners, the company trains executive protection dogs, provides commercial dogs for film and television productions, and works with search-and-rescue and law enforcement K-9 units, positioning itself more as a working-dog institution than a neighborhood puppy class.

The Liberty Pike facility in Franklin includes a recently completed broadcast studio, supporting the company’s online education arm, CoachFido, which hosts more than 600 videos, webinars, and podcasts for owners who want to train at home or supplement in-person sessions. On the corporate and entertainment side, Nashville K-9 lists luxury brands like Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz among its client base and partners with SecureAir Charter on aviation-adjacent security services, while also citing celebrity endorsements from figures including Kelly Clarkson and Hayley Paramore.

The company promotes a lifetime guarantee on its training methods and uses the tagline “Training is a journey, not a destination,” claiming to train more dogs annually than any other trainer in Tennessee. For everyday pet owners, this breadth can cut both ways: Nashville K-9’s specialization in protection and working dogs suggests deep expertise in behavior modification and high-level obedience, but owners looking for a simple puppy class or basic manners course may find a smaller, dedicated pet-training studio a more tailored fit. Those interested should call (615) 283-7100 to discuss which program matches their goals.
