Overview
TidyDog has been grooming dogs in Nashville since 2010 and has grown from its original Donelson salon into a second location in the Germantown/Buena Vista area, but it’s the Donelson shop at 2612 Lebanon Pike that anchors the brand. The salon has built its reputation on handling dogs that other groomers turn away — dogs with behavioral challenges, elderly dogs, post-surgical patients, and pets with health complications that require extra caution and a gentler pace. Full grooming packages cover baths, drying, nail trims, ear cleaning, gland expression, and a wellness inspection, alongside breed-specific trims and specialty services like Thera-Clean micro bubble bathing.
The facility takes sanitation seriously in a way that stands out among local competitors: veterinary-grade disinfectants are applied after every dog, the salon runs hospital-grade air filtration with UV-C sterilizers, and water is treated through a multi-stage filtration and conditioning system. That level of infrastructure investment lines up with the salon’s stated specialty in working with “difficult temperament, elderly and health compromised” dogs, since minimizing cross-contamination and stress matters more with fragile or reactive animals.
Hours at the Donelson location run Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Tuesday opening an hour earlier at 7 a.m., and Sunday available by appointment only. Drop-offs are accepted from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and full grooms are typically scheduled as four-hour appointments, reflecting the unhurried, careful approach the business promotes. TidyDog also offers a pet taxi service for clients who can’t manage drop-off and pick-up themselves. The salon has picked up local recognition, including Nextdoor’s Neighborhood Favorite designation for three consecutive years (2022-2024) and a 2023 Main Street Award, and maintains affiliations with MTSU and the Animal Behavior College, suggesting an emphasis on continuing education for its groomers rather than treating grooming as purely a service-line business.
